Mencap Liverpool and Sefton’s Directions project aims to help people with a learning disability move closer to the job market.
Mencap does this in various ways depending on the person – it might be reducing social isolation and encouraging people to join in with sessions they run and make friends. For some people who are a bit further along, it might be joining in with their job club The Biz, doing their CV, and working on their soft skills and for others, it may be finding a voluntary work placement with some time-limited one-to-one support from Mencap. It all depends on the individual.
As it is ESF funding, they need proof of ID and proof of benefits from all participants for evidence for Mencap’s funders.
