Seetec’s Academy for Military Preparation is a funded course for individuals aged 16-24 who aspire to join the Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF).
With training and support from ex-forces personnel, and direct access to working military bases, their academy equips young people with the valuable knowledge, skills and disciplines needed for the Armed Forces recruitment and selection process and prepares them for phase one training.
Military skills
Their academy offers accredited provision at level 2 in Preparation for the Military, and learners follow an exciting and varied curriculum. This includes:
- Drill / Parade
- Fitness
- The values and standards of the British Military
- Research and job roles
- Discipline
- Field craft
- Weapons handling
- Appearance and personal values.
Additional support
In preparation for the Armed Forces selection process, the course also covers:
- Preparation for work
- CV writing
- Interview techniques
- Effective communication skills
- Working as part of a team
- Support towards Functional Skills tests in maths and English (if needed).
Courses are delivered within Army Reserve Centres in various locations across Yorkshire, Humber and the North East, and all kit and equipment are provided.
