Are you over 19, with UK residency, live in Merseyside and currently out of work? Would you like to qualify as a Level 3 Lowland Walk Leader to be able to lead groups of walkers in the countryside?
If so, this is a course for you.
Learn about:
- Walking equipment and how to look after it
- Developing your navigation skills
- Planning walking routes
- Leadership skills
- Supervising groups
- Safety and risk assessment
This funded course includes 7 days of indoors and outdoors activities, plus some direct study time and at least 4 hours of volunteering, spread out over several months so that you can use your skills and practice with support.
Award Solutions will include 4 hours of Mental Health First Aid Awareness, to support your work, and support with signposting to other courses useful for work in the Health and Wellbeing Sector.
They will give support you with obtaining a DBS clearance for the volunteering aspect of this course, and equipment can be loaned if needed.
