The Charity Comms Circle is a 6 week development programme for those working in the third sector (charity/social enterprise) who are wanting to further hone their craft and grow their knowledge. Led by marketing consultant, Jo Austin Greer, who has worked with non-profit organisations for over 20 years, you will soak in knowledge that led to Jo reaching 3 million people with a single organic tweet, being invited to offer social media advice to top government ministers, and securing local, national and international press coverage for the organisations she has supported. Through a combination of training, peer support and mentoring, you will get your creative juices flowing, build a deeper understanding of marketing and PR practices within the third sector, and leave with practical guides and tangible plans to take your organisations comms to the next level.
What will be covered
Once the circle is fully signed up, Jo will assess the needs of the group and sessions will be tailored accordingly, but overarching themes they will work on during the 6 weeks will be:
- Session 1: Getting started on a marketing strategy
- Session 2: Creating content and story telling
- Session 3: Enhancing your organisation’s PR profile and media strategy
- Session 4: Digital marketing practices
- Session 5: Analytics and impact measurement
- Session 6: Book a 1:1 in the final week at an hour to suit you to embed your learning and personalise your planning to your organisational needs
When and where?
The six sessions will take place online via Zoom each Thursday. With session 6 being a one-to-one mentoring hour taking place at a time to suit you w/c 22 May.

Who is it for?
The Charity Comms Circle is open to anyone from across the UK (hence online) who is working in or moving into a marketing or communications role within a non-profit organisation. This is ideally for those not yet managing a marketing team, but with ambition to move into management in the future, or those early in their communication journey wanting to soak in latest trends and core practices.
