Thrive’s Stronger Futures Programme

Training Date: 24 June 2024

Hosted by Thrive | 12 Weeks starting on 24 June 2024

Thrive’s Stronger Futures programme is a youth-led program which will work with twelve vulnerable young people who are not in education, employment, and training and who have already identified that poor wellbeing and mental health is their key barrier to work. Their primary focus lies with significantly improving young people’s health and wellbeing but will focus on outcomes leading to securing education, employment and in the long term, income stability so has the potential to meet three of the priority areas highlighted.

During the programme, they will work intensively over a course of twelve weeks to coach (through a certified coach and facilitator) and remove financial barriers to wellbeing activities such as gym use, being active in the community through existing local community projects that encourage social cohesion and creative sessions tailored to young people’s passions.

These activities have been selected and suggested by their young people across three focus groups to ensure they are listening to young people experiencing poverty and actively removing their barriers to work and life. These focus groups have been led by practitioners who will lead Stronger Futures to ensure they are consistently responding to young people’s needs.

Towards the end of the programme, relevant employers, colleges, and apprenticeship providers who Thrive have existing relationships with will meet with young people and offer employer insight across their chosen fields.

They will facilitate these introductions to explore further mentoring, study, work experience and paid work. These outcomes will be recorded and measured.
