Understanding Trauma: Developing Trauma Informed Practice

Training Date: 27 February 2020

This is a one-day course introducing brain development, attachment and trauma informed responses or all those working with children and Young People 0-19.

This training is informed by the research around Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and is part of a whole Sefton approach to embed trauma informed practice within all areas of working with children and families.

This training will be facilitated by Kate Cairns Associates who introduced the Five to Thrive programme to Sefton.

This training is an introductory level and is open to anyone working in Sefton with children, young people and families who may have experienced trauma. This training is relevant to all practitioners regardless of their role.

This course is free of charge for all to attend and has been funded by the Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) grant.

Session dates:

  • Wednesday 26th February 9.00-4.30pm at Bootle Cricket Club
  • Thursday 27th February 9.00-4.30pm at Formby Professional Development Centre
  • Friday 13th March 9.00-4.30pm at Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre
