What's the fuss about Universal Credit? Briefing for voluntary sector employers
Citizens Advice Liverpool, in partnership with LCVS, is pleased to offer trustees and senior managers of voluntary sector organisations an opportunity to find out how employees are being affected by Universal Credit.
This new benefit is replacing Tax Credits for people in work, Jobseekers Allowance and Income Support for those out of work and Housing Benefit for everyone.
Citizens Advice Liverpool employs specialists who are currently helping hundreds of people negotiate making claims and trouble-shooting problems. At the same time as doing this, they are also keen to make sure employers know what’s really going on. This session will tell you all you need to know.
The Presentation
During this 30 minute presentation you'll find out:
- What the government is trying to achieve through this huge reform of the welfare system
- The main problem areas for people claiming, whether they are employees or unemployed
- How Universal Credit might affect your business and how to reduce the impact
We're confident that you’ll be surprised at what you hear and know that the session will be beneficial to your organisation.
The Discussion
Following the presentation, two members of Citizens Advice Liverpool's expert team will lead a discussion, during which you will have the opportunity to further explore the problem areas for your employees.
