Unity Theatre is one of Liverpool’s core performance venues, cemented in the hearts and minds of the city, and considered a ‘must play’ venue on the UK touring circuit. We are now looking for a new Chair of Trustees to lead our passionate and committed Board.
Our ambitious plans over the next three years will see us build on our societal roots, developing work that challenges and provokes whilst being more sustainable through the growth of commercial income, audience development and funding opportunities.
We are looking for an individual with influence and authority, strategic thinking and sound judgement. They will have a willingness to share thoughts, challenge ideas and support the team to meet the organisation’s ambitions and strategic aims.
Demonstrable experience of the demands and trends within the UK performing arts sector is desirable, be that in a paid senior position in an organisation or at Board level. A passion for the role of the arts within local communities is essential.
We strive to ensure that our Board represents a diverse range of experiences and backgrounds, reflecting the communities we work with. We actively encourage those from backgrounds currently underrepresented at Board level to apply.
Please send a CV and a cover letter, setting out the skills, experience and networks you could bring to the role, plus why you would like to serve on the Board of Unity.
Please also fill in our equal opportunities monitoring form. Follow this link to visit the equal opportunities monitoring form.
The deadline for expressions of interest is midday on Monday 16th March.
Applications should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org with the heading ‘Chair of Trustees’.
If you would like an informal conversation about the role, please contact Gordon Millar, Artistic Director/CEO, via email@example.com or 0151 709 6502, to arrange a conversation.Back to blog
