Unity Theatre is one of Liverpool’s core performance venues, cemented in the hearts and minds of the city, and considered a ‘must play’ venue on the UK touring circuit. We are now looking for a new Chair of Trustees to lead our passionate and committed Board.

Our ambitious plans over the next three years will see us build on our societal roots, developing work that challenges and provokes whilst being more sustainable through the growth of commercial income, audience development and funding opportunities.

We are looking for an individual with influence and authority, strategic thinking and sound judgement. They will have a willingness to share thoughts, challenge ideas and support the team to meet the organisation’s ambitions and strategic aims.

Demonstrable experience of the demands and trends within the UK performing arts sector is desirable, be that in a paid senior position in an organisation or at Board level. A passion for the role of the arts within local communities is essential.

We strive to ensure that our Board represents a diverse range of experiences and backgrounds, reflecting the communities we work with. We actively encourage those from backgrounds currently underrepresented at Board level to apply.
