Upcoming CoREN Events | Using the EviD Tool and research from the Cost of Living Crisis

LCVS is a member of the Community Research and Engagement Network (COREN), a collaborative of voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations, public advisors, and researchers, across the North West Coast.

As part of this partnership, there are a number of events that LCVS supports that will help improve how VCFSE groups use research evidence.

The Cost of Living Crisis Part 2: The perspective of staff at Citizens Advice Blackpool

Thursday 9 May 2024 from 1 – 2 PM. Online.

12 months on from the publication of their cost-of-living research, Citizens Advice Blackpool will share an update on the experiences of their clients. This time, it will be from the perspective of staff working for the organisation.

12 months ago, Citizens Advice Blackpool shared their research during the cost-of-living crisis. They identified a cycle of persistent poverty. To follow this up, the organisation has spoken to staff about the situation a year later. This has allowed for comparison with the original findings and the development of a deeper understanding of the situation.

In this online lunchtime workshop, Tracy Hopkins, the CEO of Citizens Advice Blackpool, Conal Land, the Research and Campaigns Officer, and Helen Gwilliam, the Research and Campaigns Assistant, are going to share what their staff have told them. This workshop will provide a platform for this research to be shared and discussed.

The workshop is for anyone who wants to understand better how the cost-of-living crisis is impacting on health and wellbeing in the North West region. The workshop will show how the wider determinants of health are being exacerbated in the current economic climate.

EViD is a novel project evaluation tool for exploring and designing project evaluations collaboratively with your partners and stakeholders from the early stages of your projects.

EViD is based on a step-by-step visualised methodology. It has been developed by researchers at Lancaster University and Manchester Metropolitan University and is available for free to non-profit organisations and for educational purposes.

Join the session to learn more about EViD and how you can use it in your own evaluative practice!
