Vauxhall Community Law & Information Centre – Welfare Rights and Advice Caseworker (Bereavement)

Contract: The post is initially for 12 months, additional future funding is being sought.
Term: Full-Time.
Salary: LA Payscale 5/6 £22,183 – £26,511 p.a. +5% Pension Contribution.
Hours per week: 35 hours.
Days per week: 5 days.
Reporting to: Senior Solicitor.
Location: Vauxhall, Liverpool.

Vauxhall Community Law and Information Centre has been providing free independent, expert legal advice in the community since 1973. They provide access to justice to the community on a range of social welfare issues, they offer welfare benefits, debt and housing advice as well as a bereavement advice service. They are based locally in Vauxhall, Liverpool and provide advice across the Liverpool City Region. They are a small community-based law centre.

Job Description

To assist in providing an efficient and effective bereavement service providing bereavement support and practical advice in relation to welfare benefits, debt and housing. You will work as part of a team to ensure that clients are receiving the best support available to help them with any matters that arise out of bereavement. You will be required to provide advice through various service delivery points, including outreach locations working with public service partners such as the NHS and community groups.
