WHISC Vacancies

Women’s Health Information & Support Centre Ltd (WHISC) is recruiting for two posts.

 

Mental Health Worker

Salary: £24,174 pro rata (£13,814 plus 6.5% pension)

Hours: 20 hours per week, including regular working until 7 pm, and occasional weekend work

Contract: Funded by the Morgan Foundation until December 2019

The post holder will design and deliver a number of activities supporting women’s mental health and well-being.

Main duties include:

Developing and supporting groups and classes for women with mental health difficulties

Developing a telephone befriending service

Putting craft and exercise sessions in place

Managing and supporting a small group of volunteers

Recruiting and supporting participants

Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on course outcomes

Ensuring all activities meet Equal Opportunities and comply with Health and Safety

Experience of working with people with mental health difficulties is required. You must be educated to a minimum PTLLS Level 4, or other teaching/training qualification.

 

Tutor/Project Worker

Salary: NJC scale 28, £11,299

Hours: 16 hours pro rata

Contract: Funded by the ESF and the Skills Funding Agency until end December 2017

The post holder will deliver the ESF-funded DO IT Project on confidence building and employability skills.

Main duties include:

1.    Planning, developing and delivering confidence building and employability workshops

Recruiting and supporting participants.
3.    Working with WHISC team to support participants through volunteer placements
4.    Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on course outcomes
5.    Completing all project documentation.
6.    Ensuring all activities meet Equal Opportunities and comply with Health and Safety

You must have experience in designing and delivering training. You must be educated to a minimum PTLLS Level 4, or other teaching/training qualification.

 

WHISC provides a women-only service to vulnerable women. Both posts meet conditions of the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, Para 1, whereby the sex of the worker (Female) is an occupational requirement.
