Carer Support Worker (Carer Connector)

  • 28 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
  • 27 days annual leave (pro rata) plus public holidays
  • £13919.36 per annum (FTE £17399.20)
  • Based in Birkenhead but with some outreach at Wirral Hospitals & GP practices

Overview

Wired is a registered charity that provides a range of services to disadvantaged people and carers within Wirral, Liverpool, Knowsley and Warrington. The objective of the Carer Connector role is to support carers in Wirral so they feel supported in their caring role. WIRED and its partner organisations provide a range of information, advice, support, counselling and relaxation opportunities and services for carers in order to support them in their caring role.

Key skills and personal qualities required;

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014, organisations supporting carers and the Health and Social Care System
  • Experience of supporting carers both over the phone and face to face
  • Experience of working with and supporting volunteers
  • Experience of supporting people to develop their skills, confidence and knowledge
  • Experience of developing and delivering information sessions
  • Experience of developing support groups and peer support groups
  • Experience and use of monitoring and feedback processes
  • Experience of working as part of a multi agency team and dealing with health and social care professionals
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • IT literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc, as well as internet search skills and e-mail use

Finance Officer

  • 21 hours per week (over 4 days), Actual salary – £14,400 (FTE £24,000)

Overview

Wired is a registered charity that provides a range of services to disadvantaged people, children, young people, parents and carers within Wirral, Liverpool, Knowsley and Warrington. This post will play a key role with the organisation and support the Senior Management Team. The Finance Officer will be responsible for the day to day managing of all financial reporting, production of monthly, quarterly accounts and payroll. The Finance Officer is expected to lead efficient financial management processes to support future growth and viability of WIRED, support with budget planning and take responsibility for monitoring of finances.

Key skills and personal qualities required

  • Finance Degree, CIMA, level 4 AAT (qualified or part qualified) or equivalent or relevant experience
  • Experience of delivering efficient financial management processes to support organisational growth.
  • Team player with the ability to work with other functional areas across the business
  • High standard of ICT including, Excel, Sage and IRIS Payroll software or similar
  • Experience of and knowledge of payroll processing
  • Experience of Government Pension Portal (NEST) and of uploading monthly pension contributions as part of overall payroll processing
  • Ability to manage varying levels of work e.g. strategic and operational day to day finance
  • Experience of financial analysis, production and reporting of Budgets, Cashflow, P&L, Balance Sheet, quarterly management accounts
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of the charity sector and or social enterprise business sector
  • Experience of VAT

Customer Service Assistant (apprenticeship)

  • 35 hours per week
  • £3.70 per hour with performance related increases available

WIRED provide mobility scooter hire and shop mobility services from a range of locations across Wirral. As part of the ongoing development and expansion of the Shop Mobility Service WIRED require a Customer Service Apprentice. The role will be based at WIRED’s Birkenhead Shop Mobility Centre located at 5 St John Street, Birkenhead.

The key duties of the role include:

  • Meeting and greeting shop mobility customers
  • Taking payment for scooter hire
  • Updating customer records/customer database
  • Responding to telephone and email enquiries
  • Keeping the services social media up to date with good news stories etc
  • Keeping the reception area clean and tidy and clutter free so that it is safe and accessible for service users

The successful applicant will have the following skills and personal qualities;

  • Good time keeping
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Good face to face communication and listening skills
  • Good IT skills – Word, Excel, email (outlook)
  • Strong literacy and numeracy
  • A good understanding of how to use the internet and social media
  • A strong work ethic and a desire to progress within the organisation
