Wired Vacancy: Initial Assessment Officer

Salary: £22,000 plus benefits

Hours: Full-time

Contract period: Covering maternity leave, starting April 2017

Wired is a registered charity that provides a range of services to disabled adults, children, young people, parents and carers. WIRED has delivered the Wirral SEND Partnership service for many years and has recently secured the contract to deliver SEND IASS (Special Educational Needs and Disability, Information, Advice and Support Service) across Liverpool and Knowsley.

Liverpool and Knowsley SEND IASS is now seeking to appoint an organised and efficient Initial Assessment Officer. This is an opportunity to join an experienced and dedicated team. You will be undertaking the initial assessment and triage of parents and carers of children and young people with SEND. You will offer impartial information, advice and support via a telephone helpline, email and social media. You will support the development and maintenance of on-line resources including a service website. You will have a high level of organisational and IT ability, and a proven track record of managing your time efficiently.

It is essential to have and understanding of the Special Educational Needs and Disability agenda and relevant SEND legislation including the Children and Families Act (2014) and the Send Code of Practice 2015.
