Writing on the Wall is celebrating 21 years of radical writing

This year, Writing on the Wall (WoW) is celebrating a fantastic achievement – the 21st year of WoWFest. The line up for the 2021 festival, which begins next month, is available now, as is a special early bird discount on festival passes.

WoWFest: 21 Years of Radical Writing is a celebration of everything WoW stands for and continually strives to achieve, with a roster of brilliant high-profile guests including leading, iconic film makers, Booker Prize winners, legendary legal campaigners, musicians, spoken word artists, campaigners, activists and local writers and artists.

For 21 years Writing on the Wall has stayed true to its origins, giving a platform to working class writing and promoting social justice. Its reach has extended across the region and internationally. Its work has transformed lives promoted diversity, equality and inclusion, published countless new authors, discovered lost voices and campaigned against racism, sexism, discrimination and inequality in all its forms.

WoW has continuously pushed local, national and international issues and fights for justice and inspired local communities to address mental health, domestic abuse, women’s rights, refugees and asylum seekers, LGBTQIA+ issues, Trans rights and much, much more, through creativity.
