Young Persons Advisory Service Vacancy: Post Systemic Family Practice Practitioner (Training post)

Salary: £23,398 (NJC scale 6, point 26)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Fixed term 1 year

Young Persons Advisory Service (YPAS) is seeking to recruit professionally qualified practitioners who have experience of working with the mental health and emotional well-being needs of children, young people and families. This is an excellent opportunity that will allow for the undertaking of funded academic training and salaried for a one year period.

YPAS is a Liverpool based Youth, Information, Advice and Counselling Service. Established in 1966, the charity provides a wide range of support and therapeutic interventions to address the mental health and emotional well-being needs of children, young people and families

The training posts are aimed at Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Registered Mental Health Nurses with three years post-qualified experience to work as parenting facilitators, co-delivering 14 week parenting programmes across three Liverpool based Community Hubs. Practitioners with a differing core profession from those listed above may also apply, e.g. youth workers, counsellors, IAG Workers etc. with a minimum of four years’ experience of working with children, young people and families.

This training post provides the opportunity to complete the CYP-IAPT Training in Systemic Family Practice (SFP) delivered in collaboration with the GMW CBT Training Centre / The University of Manchester. The one-year course will be split between training and clinical work. The qualification gained is Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Therapies with Children and Young People: Systemic Family Practice Pathway.
