YPAS is now recruiting schools to sign up for The Rainbow Flag Award

YPAS is proud to be delivering The Rainbow Flag Award to schools and colleges in Merseyside.

The Rainbow Flag Award is a national quality assurance framework for primary schools, secondary schools, SEND schools and colleges. The award focuses on positive LGBT+, (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, plus other related identities), inclusion and visibility.

Visibility is so important for children and young people because if you can’t see it, it’s hard to be it.

The Rainbow Flag Award encourages a whole school approach to LGBT+ inclusion, as well as developing strategies to effectively challenge and combat LGBTphobic* bullying.

YPAS started delivery to their first cohort of schools in September 2021. They are now recruiting schools to sign up for cohort three which will start at the end of April 2022.
