Job Overview

Are you passionate about supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people? Do you want to make a meaningful impact in your community — even if you don’t have a traditional academic background? The Young Person’s Advisory Service (YPAS) is recruiting 10 Trainee CYWPs to join their team and train to deliver early mental health support to young people. This is a chance to learn, grow and build a career that really matters — while earning as you train.

What is a CYWP?

CYWPs are specially trained practitioners who deliver low-intensity mental health interventions to children and young people. You’ll be helping young people manage their wellbeing, develop coping strategies, and build resilience.

What they  are looking for:

They welcome people from all walks of life, and are especially keen to hear from you if:

  • You have experience or understanding of mental health, wellbeing, or child development — either through university, working and volunteering
  • You can demonstrate the potential to work at postgraduate level, even if you don’t have a degree
  • Non-graduates can still apply – but if successful would need to submit an essay to show you’re ready for academic study.
  • You are motivated, compassionate, and ready to learn and have a can do approach.

Why Join YPAS?

  • Be part of a passionate team dedicated to making a positive impact on children and young people’s lives.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
  • A supportive and collaborative work environment and young people’s mental health and emotional wellbeing and have an aptitude to undertake a postgraduate/graduate study programme.
