Alder Hey Children’s Charity – Trustees

This is a voluntary role.

Posts available: Up to three.
Term: Trustees are usually appointed for a term of up to four years. Trustees may also be re-appointed at the end of their term of office, but no Trustee may serve more than 10 years.
Reporting to: Chair of Trustees.
Location: Meetings at office/home or a mix of the two (office is at Alder Hey, Liverpool).

Alder Hey Children’s Hospital is the busiest children’s hospital in the UK caring for over 330,000 young patients every year. Alder Hey is a Centre of Excellence for children with cancer, heart, spinal and brain disease and a National Centre for head and facial surgery, they are one of only four centres nationally to provide epilepsy surgery and one of two accredited major trauma units for children in the North West.

Alder Hey Children’s Charity raises funds to support the pioneering work at their brand new hospital, Alder Hey in the Park, and aims to improve the quality of life for not only the young people they see each year, but through innovations and research into childhood diseases, the quality of life for children across the world.

Job Description

This is a new and exciting opportunity for new Trustees to join the Board of Alder Hey Children’s Charity. Their Board of Trustees are responsible for providing oversight and leadership of the Charity, ensuring good governance and effective probity. The Trustees ensure there is a clear strategic direction in line with its charitable purpose. Just as importantly, they support and challenge the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team to enable the charity to grow and thrive.
