Salary: £8,736 per annum.
Hours: 14 hours – part-time – fixed term until 31 March 2025 initially with a possible extension dependent on funding.
Holidays: 5.6 weeks inclusive of bank holidays pro-rata for part time staff.
Location: City Centre office with possible travel across Sefton and Liverpool, flexible home working.

Combat Isolation is a bespoke service based across Liverpool, Sefton and Kirkby. The team supports older adults age 50+ diagnosed with functional mental illness who have been affected by loneliness and isolation exacerbated by the impact of Covid. The service has been designed to build confidence and increase independence through delivery of one-to-one support together with supporting the delivery of drop-in sessions, community-based activities and volunteer befriending.

The Volunteer Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Combat Isolation team, overseeing the recruitment and retainment of volunteer befrienders from application through to client matching. This will include processing applications, conducting informal interviews, managing the DBS process and supporting with organising volunteer training. The post holder would be the main point of contact for those currently volunteering for the service, dealing with any queries they may have during their time with the service.

You will have an interest in supporting volunteers and/or people living with mental health conditions, taking a compassionate approach and maintain confidentiality and data protection at all times. You should be confident in multitasking and time management. You will be an excellent communicator and able to maintain positive working relationships with volunteers and outside agencies. You will be confident working without close supervision and be able to complete time-sensitive tasks.
