Citizens Advice Liverpool Vacancy: Volunteer Recruitment & Training Manager

Salary: £25,000 p.a. pro-rata
Hours: 17.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

Citizens Advice Liverpool was formed following the merger of a number of individual local Citizens Advice services across the Liverpool. Citizens Advice Liverpool depends on volunteers to deliver the services and the organisation is now looking for a dynamic individual to take responsibility for volunteers’ experience across its outlets.

Do you have the skills and experience to attract new recruits and motivate the workforce; with the vision to understand what new roles are needed to develop to meet future advice needs? Can you develop a Volunteering Strategy whilst ensuring recruitment processes are creative, streamlined, and accessible and contribute to diversifying the volunteer base?

Citizens Advice Liverpool offers face-to-face advice from the main offices, but is also looking to greatly expand outreach locations plus the phone and digital offer. Its use of WhatsApp and Snapchat was showcased at the last Citizens Advice national conference. Whilst you will not be responsible for producing training plans, you will lead on ensuring paid staff have training plans and from these develop the overall Learning and Development Plan.

You will need to show that you have:

  • Experience of producing and implementing learning programmes and directly delivering learning activities
  • Experience of managing volunteering issues and a commitment to the value of volunteering
  • Understanding of adult learning techniques as they apply to individuals with varied and diverse experience of formal education
  • Ability to motivate staff or volunteers to build enthusiasm and commitment and improve performance
