Chair of the Board of Trustees
The Reader is seeking a new Chair of Trustees to help the organisation achieve its ambitious programme of work for the next 5-10 years. This includes developing The Reader at Calderstones, a community built on Shared Reading, at our national HQ in Calderstones Park, Liverpool, and continuing to build the reach of our national programme which currently supports the delivery of 500+ weekly Shared Reading groups in settings ranging from local libraries, care homes, hospitals, prisons, children’s centres, community spaces and secure mental health settings.
We are looking for a person who can wholeheartedly subscribe to the mission and values of The Reader, see its national development potential and can help support and guide and challenge the executive team in the delivery of their work.

Facilities Assistant
Reporting to: Head of Facilities
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £15,000 – £17,000 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week across 5 days on a rota basis spanning 0800 – 1800 hours, Monday to Sunday
Annual Leave: 30 days per year plus bank holidays
Based at: The Reader, Mansion House, Calderstones Park, L18 3JB
This is an exciting opportunity for a practically minded individual with a flair for manual tasks and maintaining standards. You will need to be flexible and willing to work within a team to plan and solve the problems we encounter as we use our facilities. You may not have experience of all the elements of this role, but you’ll be able to demonstrate your adaptability and willingness to learn.
