Transforming Rehabilitation – Changing Lives

Around half of all crime is committed by people who have already been through the Criminal Justice system, with an estimated cost of between £9.5 and £13billion per year.

Despite significant government spending on offender management in the last decade, reoffending remains consistently high.

LCVS is working with local Criminal Justice partners to enhance access to health and wellbeing services within criminal justice systems, including local prisons, as part of the local rehabilitation and resettlement of local offenders.

This involves facilitating local meetings and sharing information regarding the sector, as well as linking with Sefton CVS Prison Liaison Officers to help contribute to existing interventions and support.
